This summer evening was what backyard summer evenings were made for. I left with dirt under my nails, a bunch of non-harmful bug bites on my legs, a bag full of fresh garden goods to take home and gratitude for people who so deeply dwell within the magic of the walls of the home they created. Miles showed me his room and how high he can jump off the bed (cause no rules apply when the photographer comes over..) and then took me to the garden out back. They taught me about blackberries, beets, bees and which of their chickens has more attitude than others. Kristyn, Brian, their little wild one, Miles, and a homegrown oasis right in their backyard. Capturing spirits like these on nights like these is all kinds of summer lovely. Plus, I didn’t have to grocery shop that week. Win win win.
